OCLI office is temporarily closed following east coast Hurricane.
While many families across the United States spent the start of their week preparing for Halloween and putting the last minute touches on their spooky costumes, for those who live across the east coast of the United States, the true fear and fright of this week came when Hurricane Sandy made its way into the homes and lives of the many people who were in its path.
With New York and New Jersey taking the brunt of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy―shutting down airports, flooding the local streets and neighborhoods, putting many families out of their homes and into safety facilities―the OCLI office located in East Hanover, NJ was just one of many facilities across the east coast to be affected by the disaster.
While we are lucky enough that our entire staff has made it through this crises safely and our facilities received no permanent damage, the power to OCLI was wiped out early Tuesday afternoon and we have remained without electricity through to the end of this week, forcing us to close our offices until the power is restored. Luckily for all surgical patients, the River Drive Surgery Center retained power Wednesday and we were able to have a full surgery day as planned.
We would like to take this time to thank all of our patients and readers who have sent well wishes to our facilities during this time, and we continue to send our thoughts out to all of those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. We will be sure to let you know when power has been restored to our East Hanover, NJ offices and our appointments resume as usual.
Thank you once again for your support during this time, from Dr. Silverman and everyone here at the OCLI team.
