It may be arguable, but the 4th of July in New Jersey is probably about as American as it gets. Consider the state itself: beautiful vistas, woods, and streams juxtaposed with factories and businesses, casinos and nightlife on the waterfront and farms and quaint townships farther inland. It’s quintessentially American all right, with the brash and the beautiful all mixed together.
And that’s just one reason you’ll want to make sure you see some of the 4th of July events in New Jersey. So we’ve picked out a few – some big and loud and some more reserved – for you to choose from and enjoy.
Here’s how it’s billed on the website: “It’s the biggest seasonal event on the Jersey Shore – in fact, it’s the biggest Independence Day celebration anywhere in New Jersey, and it happens every July 4th right here in Long Branch.” Since 1990, it has been an all-out effort to celebrate Independence Day, drawing hundreds of thousands of people from all over the Mid-Atlantic region.
It’s an all-day, family-friendly festival that “brings together the most memorable sounds and sensations of the summer season.” And it is capped off with “the most memorable fireworks you’ll see anywhere along the Jersey coast.”
