OCLI (Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island), a highly respected multi-practice ophthalmology and optometry group, today announced the addition of Christopher M. Adam, MD, a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical management of diseases of the retina and vitreous. Beginning on August 10, 2020, he will see patients at OCLI’s Patchogue, Port Jefferson and East Setauket offices.
Dr. Adam earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine after receiving a BA from SUNY Stony Brook University. He completed an internal medicine internship at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, New York, followed by a residency at SUNY Downstate Health Science University, where he served as the administrative chief resident and was recognized for his outstanding performance in the department of ophthalmology. He then went on to a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
A member of such organizations as the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association, among others, Dr. Adam has authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications, presented his research at many national conferences and was the investigator or co-investigator in several IRB-approved clinical studies.
“I’m very excited about joining OCLI, which is well known for its unwavering commitment to delivering the most advanced eye care,” says Dr. Adam. “I look forward to providing the highest level of care to my patients.”
