Westbury, New York – December 31, 2017 – Spectrum Vision Partners, a leading management services organization serving the ophthalmology sector, has entered into a strategic relationship with Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut (“OCC”), a nationally renowned eye care group and New Vision Cataract Center (“NVCC”), a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center serving eye surgery needs, to position OCC and NVCC for further expansion in Connecticut.
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut, OCC is one of the leading ophthalmology/optometry practices in the United States. It is comprised of 3 highly skilled eye surgeons and 3 renowned optometrists known for their clinical expertise, innovative care and compassionate bedside manner across 4 locations in southern and central Connecticut. OCC’s nationally respected physician group includes a past President of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the editor in chief of two leading ophthalmic publications, Yale ophthalmology faculty, faculty for the glaucoma program for ASCRS, the Chairman of the National Glaucoma Society, and one of Connecticut’s leading cataract surgeons. This group is recognized for innovative medical achievements including the first surgeon to implant the Symphony multifocal IOL in the United States and one of the original U.S. investigators of laser cataract surgery, LASIK and corneal crosslinking. OCC operates a network of 4 modern, state-of-the-art locations across Connecticut. NVCC is a modern ambulatory surgery center with 2 ophthalmic operating rooms and a laser suite to perform intricate eye surgeries including laser assisted cataract surgery using the LenSx Laser System. Located in Norwalk, Connecticut, NVCC has been serving Connecticut for over 20 years.
