Dr. Sachs graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then received his medical degree, graduating in the top of his class from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his transitional year at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and then completed an ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Sachs remained in Long Island for a one-year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery. During his fellowship Dr. Sachs specialized in cataract surgery, multifocal intraocular lenses, cornea transplants and the latest techniques in laser and refractive surgery.
During his training Dr. Sachs was very active in ophthalmic research. He has written numerous articles and two book chapters, and has been involved in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. Dr. Sachs is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Staff was super friendly! Dr. Sachs took the time to explain everything to me regarding my eyes. I never felt rushed or unimportant. I’d definitely recommend their office.

My annual eye exam visit went extremely well. I did not have to wait very long at all and was seen by all staff in a timely manner. I was treated with respect. Dr. Sachs is very professional and attentive.
All office staff are very friendly. The office itself is clean and nicely decorated. I was taken on time and the entire appointment was efficiently handled. Dr. Sachs is knowledgeable and takes the time to answer questions and explain care recommendations. I would highly recommend this office!

Dr. Sachs is a top doctor. He is professional, takes his time with patients and is highly knowledgeable. The staff is efficient and polite.
I have been to OCLI to see Dr. Sachs numerous times for varying exams and surgeries. He is very professional and extremely thorough. He takes as much time with you as you need. I never feel rushed. He will put you at ease, as he is explaining what he is doing and why. As for his staff, I have always found them very pleasant and accommodating with my appointments. I have never waited long to see Dr. Sachs. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Sachs at OCLI.

Had another great experience. First was in October 2017. At that time I was very happy and figured I would be back in a year. In the meantime due to some health issues I had to come back sooner and this time saw Dr. David Sachs. What a pleasant doctor he is. I found him to be highly qualified, completely able to relate to my situation and yet speak in laymen’s terms. He explained everything twice because I think he saw the bit of overwhelming confusion on my face. Maybe because some things I was nervous about that were now proven to be true. He gave me all the options available to my unique case and is confident we can work on my getting my eye health in check while also dealing with the original issue I came to see him about. I found the office to be efficently run. Everyone seems to interact and be pleasant with each other. Each person has their own individual job to do. The girls answering the very quiet phones speak low and are pleasant when you call. The receptionists (at least 2) are again so pleasant and just seem to have all the answers. The first tech that takes you in (last time I had Kelly she is phenominal, what a great girl) and this time Stephan who works out of 2 offices was also wonderful. Very calm personalities, they are confident and know what they are doing. Stephan was able to answer all my questions and we even had a couple laughs. Then after I saw Dr. Sachs for the first time before some test needed to be done by other techs they each come to escort you so to speak to the next area for what they need to do or seat you in a very nice area to wait which is not long. Each one identified themselves and told me at length what they would be doing, why and asked if I had any questions. Dr. Sachs made sure to come back inbetween to see how I was doing, update me on what he was going to be doing next or have a tech do and then came back at the end to recheck my eyes and ask if I had anymore questions. My husband was in the outer waiting room and counted no less then 14 people go in and out within the hour I was there and all had smiles on their faces except for one and that was because she was a rude woman, wanting to take a magazine, tossing it and not once but 2x’s almost hit him in his knee with her body while coming to toss the magazine and then to come back to grab it. How rude. But she obviously had her own issues. He had spoken to some of the family members of the patients that went in for their exams and all had the same story, been going to them for a while and are very happy. The only draw back of this wonderful practice I found is that to park in front is taking your life in your own hands and to get to the back to park isn’t much better. If its bad weather, ie: snowing, ice, or rain its impossible BUT they will be moving to another facility in East Meadow that has proper parking including many more spaces. Overall this was once again a wonderful experience, with a good sound practice that runs efficently. Dr. Sachs is a wonderful doctor and a really nice man. Kudos to him and his practice.
