Dr. D’Aversa completed his undergraduate studies at Manhattan College majoring in Psychology with cum laude honors. He received his professional Optometry degree from State University of New York College of Optometry with Beta Sigma Kappa honors.
Dr. D’Aversa specializes in pre and post-operative surgical co-management, emergency eye care, and the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and ocular surface disease. He has traveled to medically underserved communities in Panama and Grenada to provide comprehensive eye care. Dr. D’Aversa has given lectures on cataract surgery management and ocular surface disease. Additionally, Dr. D’Aversa is able to provide specialty contact lens fittings to OCLI patients with unique corneal and refractive needs.
I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. jerry D’aversa. He explained in detail what had been going on with my eyes and why they were straining for the last week. He was sociable, kind, easy going , and extremely knowledgeable. Being a nurse that’s everything you want your doctor to be. I would highly recommend to anyone questioning where to go for their eye health and well-being.
The wait was fairly short . The staff was polite, friendly and competent. Dr. Jerry D’Adversa did a very thorough exam. He took the time to explain everything . I felt very comfortable and fully informed.
The best group of eye doctor’s around. Dr D’Aversa took great care of my eye problem and to this day he still continues to monitor my eyes. I would never let any other eye doctor take care of me if it’s not OCLI

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes at Island Eye SurgiCenter. My experience with the surgeon, Dr. Jerry D’Aversa and the Center was extremely pleasant. The staff at the Center couldn’t have been more helpful and comforting to my needs and the surgical outcome was excellent. Kudos to the Administrator and his team for their caring approach to my medical needs. I highly recommend this facility.

We really like this practice. Dr. D’Aversa of OCLI was recommended by a surgeon friend of mine who used OCLI for his cataract surgery. After years of going to a local practice, I switched to OCLI when my first cataract surgery was wildly unsuccessful and the practice seemed indifferent to my problem. The OCLI office staff is professional yet friendly. Wait time in the office is usually minimal. Dr. D’Aversa successfully performed my second cataract surgery. He is professional and caring in his manner. I trust his medical judgment.
