Biography

Paul J. Lee, MD, is a Vitreo-retinal Surgeon specializing in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vascular diseases of the retina and complications of anterior segment surgery as well as in medical heuristics and medical data analytics. Dr. Lee is an accomplished author, having co-edited a textbook and provided chapters on the management of endophthalmitis and ocular tumors, and holds a unique syringe design patent. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lee has served as principal investigator for several research projects about macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Currently, Dr. Lee is working on data analysis projects and machine learning algorithms for medical data.

Dr. Lee obtained his undergraduate and medical school degrees from Georgetown University. Following medical school, Dr. Lee completed residencies at Georgetown University Medical Center and Albany Medical Center, and a vitreo-retinal fellowship at Tulane Medical Center. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Lee holds master’s in clinical ethics, management of information technology, data analytics, and quantitative analysis at the University of Virginia and Northwestern University.
